Making a purchase

By ordering any item from us you confirm that you are over 18 years of age and if you are under 18 years of age you must not order items from this website.
All item descriptions and illustrations are provided in good faith but are intended for guidance only and the actual items may vary accordingly. Whilst we use reasonable endeavours to keep all prices up to date we reserve the right to alter prices at any time. Any price change will be communicated to you before dispatch of the item.
Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our online shop, choose an item and click on Add to basket. You can then choose whether to Continue shopping or proceed to complete your purchase and pay.
You are able to correct mistakes on your order up to the point at which you start the Checkout payment process.
You confirm that the credit or debit card being used is yours. Please note that all credit/debit cardholders are subject to validation checks and authorisation by the issuer of the card. If the issuer of your payment card refuses to pay or does not for any reason authorise, we will not be liable for delay or non-delivery of goods. We retain the legal ownership of all goods until full payment has been made by you and received by us and legal ownership of the goods will immediately transfer back to us if we refund any payment for the goods to you. Risk in the goods transfers to you upon delivery. If you do not wish to use your credit card online you can send your debit/credit card information via phone, fax or post as well as the option to send us a cheque or pay by bank transfer.

Accepting the order and completing the contract
When you place an order to purchase an item your order represents an offer to purchase that item which we may chose to accept or refuse. Your order does not represent a legally binding contract.
All items are offered subject to availability. The information displayed is considered as an invitation to treat, not an offer for sale from Churnet Valley Railway. The completion of the contract between you and us will only occur when we send you the confirmation of dispatch of the items ordered unless we have notified you that we do not accept your order, or you have cancelled it (see below for cancellation procedure).
An order may not be accepted due to one of the following:
·         the item(s) you ordered are out of stock,
·         authorisation cannot be obtained for your payment, or
·         we have found a pricing or product description error or change.
As soon as we discover any of the above we will contact you by email and set out the alternatives available.

Inspecting your purchase and your right to cancel your order
You should inspect your purchase upon receipt and check that everything specified is included. You will be deemed to have accepted the items unless you notify us upon receipt that there is a problem or you cancel your order in accordance with your cancellation rights (see below) and/or you return the items in accordance with our returns policy. If you fail to take such action, we are not obliged to accept any rejection by you of the items at a later date.

Shipping And Handling All prices are displayed excluding delivery charges. Shipping and handling is charged by weight and destination. The total amount will be shown at the checkout stage.
Delivery Schedule We will normally send your order to you within 3 business days [of confirmation of receipt of payment]. Back Orders If your item is not in stock, we will back order for you. You will always be emailed with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait.
Tax Charges. All prices displayed are inclusive of VAT where applicable, but do not include delivery charges

Guarantee
We guarantee your satisfaction. All of our products come with a 7 day no quibble guarantee.
Cancellation rights
Under the distance selling regulations you have the legal right to cancel your order within seven working days of receiving the goods (except perishable items or audio/video/DVD recordings/computer software which you have unsealed - these can only be returned/exchanged if faulty). For further details of how to return goods please see our returns policy and procedure. Where goods are delivered to a third party you may exercise your right to cancel if you are able to return the goods to us. See Delivery & Returns for further details. Your statutory rights are not affected.
Returns Policy for goods.
Our "no quibbles" guarantee means that if for any reason you are unhappy with your purchase you can return it to us (within 7 days)  in its original condition and original packaging, and, in relation to CDs or DVDs, with seals and shrink wrap intact.
We recommend returning your parcel with a proof of posting. We regret we cannot reimburse the cost of postage unless the items are faulty or delivered in error.
We will refund or exchange your purchase once it is received by us.

Refund Policy for Services.
Churnet Valley Railway (1992) PLC does not guarantee that trains will depart at the times stated and reserves the right to cancel or alter any train without prior notice and to change the motive power for whatever reason.

No liability for loss, inconvenience or delay can be accepted. If, however, the prevailing weather conditions (particularly snow) make it impossible for the event to take place, then the company will contact ticket holders as soon as is practical and transfer them to another date or refund the ticket price in full

Unfortunately due to the high demand for tickets we are unable to give refunds. In the event of any changes to your booking, i.e. change of date or time, there will be an administration charge of £5.00 per booking. If you subsequently add extra passengers to your party we cannot guarantee that you will be sitting together
